Some other fine folks we'd like to turn you on to:

The Gypsy Journal is one of our favorite RV journal and information sites. www.gypsyjournalrv.com.  Nick has beaucoup information for the full-time (or occasional) RVer, and his blog is a lot of fun.His Rallies are well put together and well attended and rightly so! Check it out!

This is the most comprehensive, informative site for the Rio Grande Valley (Texas) we've found! Dare you to find something Rod hasn't covered! www.wintertexaninfo.com. He also does promotional printing and is a professional videographer and photographer (he may even take in laundry--you can always ask!)
www.michiganfolklive.com  is Michigan’s premier source of current information on the Michigan Live Roots Music scene. They strive to always provide the timeliest, most current, most comprehensive source of all things Folk Music related in Michigan.
The National Folk Alliance and also the regional  South East Regional Folk Alliance.  If you're a serious American folk music and dance aficionado, you might consider joining these fine organizations.
Musicians

Dennis Kingsbury www.FloydKingMusic.com An adept singer/songwriter and a fine instrumentalist. He co-hosts "Live at the Living Room" with Maggie Ferguson, and also finds time to play hot mandolin and bass for Wandrin' Wheel!
Dan Hazlett is not just any singer/songwriter. From down Detroit way, he does beautiful stuff & funny stuff & accompanys himself masterfully.  Prolific and intelligent. Check him out at www.danshazlett.com

Stonecross is not just another husband & wife team...not just another Celtic duo.  Suisan O'Rourke's rich alto in both English & Gaelic, & Zig Zeitler's skillful playing of just about any stringed instrument, combine for a rich, rich sound. Check them out at www.stonecrossband.com.  They also have a studio and concert venue which you can learn more about at www.whitecrowconservatory.com.
We met The Fabulous Heftones at the Evart Dulcimer Festival, where they were entertaining folks with the hottest ukulele & the most fascinating bass (dubbed a "Heftone") we've ever seen & heard. Brian & Lynn are multi-talented individuals; but as The Heftones they specialize in "tunes & ditties" of the 1920s. Lynn has a lovely clear voice perfect for the period, & Brian's crazy hot uke playing & wacky delivery make for a most delightful time. Go visit them at www.heftone.com.
Other Creative Folk
Mark Ray  hosts a terrific radio show called, "Local Talent Round-up" Every Sunday morning from 8 am to 10 am, featuring folk, bluegrass, gospel, jazz & blues around central, northern, and western Michigan. Tune into True Country 106.3 WSCG and hear your local favorites. www.mecostaonline.com.

Maggie Ferguson, one of the hosts of "Live at the Living Room at the Blue Note" also hosts a folk music show on WXOU 88.3 FM, called "Old Front Porch". You can hear her live from Auburn Hills Tuesdays from 5-7pm by clicking on this link www.wxou.org. (And, she is quite a musician in her own right!)
Ken Laing does a tasty folk music show live every Friday on the web (FolkScape) which is rebroadcast during the week. You will always hear favorites like The Kingston Trio, Gordon Lightfoot, & Ian & Sylvia, but you might also hear a tune or two from newcomers, The McKinney Washtub Two!

Josh Way, the website master who created this site, has his own finely crafted site that is a lot of fun to play around in at
www.joshway.com. He is also a talented cartoonist (who did our "heads" caricatures) with two volumes of his comic out. Look for the "Gabe" series, as well as a daily comic. Lots of fun!
